You may have heard the saying, “Turn that frown upside down.” Here at Renew Aesthetic Medicine and Wellness, we take it a step further. Through the use of dermal fillers and Botox®, we can help make those wrinkles and frown lines disappear, giving you even more reasons to smile.
Using their extensive experience in medical aesthetics, Dr. Teri Ciccone and Beth Domolky, RN, help our clients in and around Southborough, Massachusetts, look their best. We use a variety of cosmetic treatments, including Botox and the Juvéderm® family of dermal fillers.
Botox and dermal fillers have some similarities
Botox and dermal fillers, such as Juvéderm, share a few things in common. Both are minimally invasive, nonsurgical procedures delivered via injection during sessions lasting less than thirty minutes. The results of both injectables are temporary and can be administered again as needed.
After both treatments, you can return to your normal activities right away with no downtime needed. However, it’s best to wait a day or so before exercising or performing strenuous tasks.
Botox subtly turns back time
Botox contains a purified form of botulinum toxin, and it works on wrinkles that developed over time as you moved your facial muscles. All those years of smiling and frowning left their mark on your face. Botox injections soften crow’s feet, frown lines between the brows, and unsightly creases zigzagging across the forehead, giving you a more relaxed, youthful look.
Botox works by blocking nerve signals to the muscles so they relax, inhibiting the lines from forming. The results can begin to become evident as soon as 24-48 hours following the procedure.
Dermal fillers plump and smooth your skin
The Juvéderm collection of dermal fillers can soften fine lines and wrinkles, lift and plump sagging skin, and lessen the look of acne scars. The products contain hyaluronic acid, a substance that is found naturally in your skin. As we age, the body produces less hyaluronic acid, which contributes to unsightly lines and wrinkles.
Injections of some dermal fillers stimulate the production of collagen, another natural skin-strengthening compound. Unlike Botox, dermal fillers can be used to add volume by plumping up lips and cheeks for a fresher, more youthful appearance.
Combine Botox and Juvéderm for timeless beauty
Juvéderm and Botox both offer great solutions for turning back the clock. Botox is perfect for treating wrinkles on the top half of the face. Juvéderm fillers work on the bottom half of the face to plump up lips and cheeks. They’re also ideal for laugh lines that aren’t so funny anymore. So both treatments can be used together for the perfect anti-aging cocktail.
